Sorry for the HUGE absent everyone. I know I said this before but I just got lazy and didnt think anyone really cared about the blog. I had gotten some compliments from people but they were close friends and have my same sense of humor. So I guess I am saying I figured they would like it. However, after coming home for Christmas, I ran into a bunch of people I hadnt seen in awhile. I got so many questions about the blog. So many people were wondering why I stopped writing. It was actually pretty cool to see and hear so many people like it. So now I am back and hope to make this a regular thing. So here we go. The first post of 2012 has to do with Kate moving in with my (and the MAJOR changes my apartment has gone through) and flying back with some interesting people and animals. Here we go...
Well, Kate finally moved out here. Its been great so far. Our first few nights together she cooked dinner (which she will undoubtedly be doing regularly do to my lack of culinary skills and her disdain for my poor hygiene skills) seasoned pork chops, turkey tacos, home made chipolte chicken bowls and tonight we had home made turkey chilli. Needless to say it is much better than my grilled chicken, beef tacos and Chef Boyardee Beefaroni. I was living off of for the last 4 months. Yea for real food.
The first time Kate visited, I wrote about how she came and made some changes to my apartment. Before she came, I was living in a pretty plain apartment with the bare necessaries. Now, I feel like I am living in a place that actual adults would live in. The only thing I am having problems understanding is why I now have so many pillows in my apartment. There are 6 pillows on my couch and like 10 on my bed. I am being out numbered by pillows 8 to 1 in my own home. As one of my favorite hip hop artists Kanye West would say, that shit cray. Take a look at all the changes Kate has made around the apartment (and one I botched)...
A nice flower on a table thing
The pillows take over
Here is the bookcase that took me 3 hours to build and its still a little slanted
This is the first thing you see
A hanging mirror candle thing-y
Kate is taking over
Yep, this is her apartment now
I now have a thing that hangs in my shower. The ledges were not doing a well
Well after we went home to visit family, we had to fly back. However, this time Kate had to bring her two cats. Well I guess this means that I have two cats now. So I had to fly my two cats out here. Beside the fact that each cat cost us (and when I say us, I mean Kate) $125 each, we had to keep them in their cage for over 10 straight hours. It was brutal. Sophie, the older and more independent one, was not happy at all. From the moment we got into the car to head to Detroit, she was in a foul mood. She cried and howled the whole way. The only time she didnt cry was the 20 minutes I put her cage on my lap while we waited for out plane. For whatever reason, she was loving me and we really bonded. Well the worse had yet to come. We had to take the two cats on the plane for 4 hours.
While on the plane, we had to keep their carriers underneath our seats. While the people we shuffling in Sophie and Kate's other cat Bella were crying because they were scared. This lead the to the multiple awkward conversations that all went like this...
(Meow, Meow)
(Spike is embarrassed)
Joker #1: Is that a cat?
Spike: Yeah, we have two.
Joker#1: Wow I thought I heard a cat.
Spike: Yeah, cats tend to make that noise.
Joker #1: Wow, I cant believe it. I thought I heard a meow but wasnt sure. Must be a pain to have them on the flight.
Spike: Yeah, its been an adventure (these conversations only add to the adventure).
Joker #1: Well have a nice flight.
Spike: Thanks.
(Meow, Meow)
Joker #2: Is that a cat?
Spike: (Sighs) Yeah we have two...
This happened like 8 times. Attention people of Detroit and Las Vegas Airports. When you hear two cats howling and a guy carrying two cat carriers, chances are he has two cats with him. Figure it out guys.
I want to end this post with a picture of the this. See if you can figure out what this is. First person to post the correct answer on the comment section gets a post card courtesy of the Scorpion King. As always, stay outta the heat and watch out for scorpions.
PS. Thanks to Ashley Morris for this awesome Christmas Gift.
