Well I decided to get back at this thing. I havent written an article since I took home big money on the slots. I went back home to Toledo last week and and enjoyed all my family. So I am sorry I havent been blogging as much anymore. Lets see if I still know how to do this....
For those of you who read my blog, you know I bought a car when I got out here. My brother-in-law Rich says its a girly car but what does he know. Kate says she loves it...oh wait. Anyway, I finally decided to to register it with the Silver State (what an awful name). I went into my local DMV expecting not to pay too much. Back in the Buckeye state, I think it is $40 dollars to register a car. I was expecting somewhere around 200 or 300 dollars. So the DMV lady gets my paper work, inspects the car, and takes my ID. After typing my info into the computer she says, "Oh, thats weird." I asked what she was talking about. She said and I quote, "You didnt pay taxes on your car so you owe my $1,778. Will that be cash or credit?" Over $1700 dollars to register my car. Holy Hell! I replied with "Umm, I have to go." And I scurried out of the DMV. After calling my dad (he was pissed) and the guy who sold me the car, I was told I would be required to pay the full price. Tax, title and registration aint no joke. So the DMV said suck it to my perfectly planned budget. Growing up sucks.
After the debacle at the DMV, I started to get settled in. I started visiting more and more places and started noticing something very interesting. Every bar I go to, I always ask what the specials are. Every single bar I go to, Coors is always the special. Not Coors Light. Coors. The Banquet Beer. I had never even had a Coors. Now everywhere I go its the special. Not Bud Light, Budweiser, or Miller Light. Coors, the Banquet Beer. This place is very strange. Ill be back soon.

Winning!
Well, I havent had a post in a long time. I am not sure why. I guess I have just been a little busy, a little lazy and/or I havent had anything to talk about. Well that all changed when I went to the casino. Heres the story...
Kate visited again and this time her mom came with her. They spent all Sunday in Vegas and came to Laughlin on Monday. We had a ton of fun. A majority of our time in Laughlin was spent casino hopping, gambling and trying the local restaurants. Kate and her mom did very well playing the slots in Vegas and they wanted to try their luck in Laughlin. Now you all know me and how I dont like to spend my money at all. Well, Kate's mom was giving me some money to gamble and I decided to try the slots. The first few days, I hadnt won anyting and I was getting very frustrated. I was playing the Wheel of Fortune 25 cent slot and I wasnt winning jack. Kate and her mom were once again doing pretty well. So after the first few days, I decided to take Kate and her mom to the Avi casino. The Avi is an Indian Reservation and in my opinion, is the nicest casino in Laughlin. So off we went.
When we got to the Avi, I had 17 dollars in my pocket and I knew I wanted to bet on some football games for the weekend. Well the Parlay cards dont come out til Thursday so I decided to try my luck again with the Wheel of Fortune. Once again, I wasnt hitting anything. I had gone through 6 of my 17 dollars in less than a minute. I was so pissed. I kept thinking what was the point of playing these stupid games. No one ever wins. At this point, I just wanted to get rid of my remaining $11. So I found this game. White Ice was a dollar slot machine with a maximum bet of 2 dollars. I thought I'd be done with this nightmare in 6 spins and I could just watch (and not lose anymore money) Kate gamble. I hit spin for the first time and came up empty. I hit spin again and nothing. My expectations werent to high at this point. I hit spin another time and nothing. So I was done to $5 and was ready to be done with it. So I hit spin again and this time something different happened. Instead of coming up with a bunch of junk, this was what the slot machine read. When it comes to slot machines, most of the time, I have no idea what is good and what isnt good. So when that came up and I saw I was winning, I thought it was going to stop at like 20. But it kept going and going and going and going. At this point, Kate could hear my machine was winning so she came over to see what was up. As the numbers turned from two digits to three digits, I looked at Kate and said, "Kate, I think those numbers mean dollars." She said, "Uh, yeah. You are winning a lot." At the end, this is what I had won. After I picked me jaw up off the floor, I instantly hit cash out. The machine spit this ticket out and I knew I had won some pretty big money.
Kate and her mom were so happy for me. I felt awesome. I turned $17 into $800. I couldnt believe it. The best/worst part of the night was Kate's reaction. At the point I won, she had won over $100. Heres the proof. Any other night, she would have been pumped to win that much money. The rest of the trip, she tried her best to win some big money. It didnt help that her mom won $300 in Vegas the next day. So by the end of the trip, Kate had lost all of her money. Sorry babe, some of us are just lucky.
Stay out of the heat and watch out for scorpions.
